AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D: Release with more Ryzen CPUs on April 20 for $449

Soon there will be a very interesting new processor for the socket AM4, namely the Ryzen 7 5800X3D. In a press release, AMD has now announced the release of the CPU, which is presumably particularly strong for gaming: April 20 is the release date, and it will be for a recommended price of $449 (about 410 Euros). Furthermore, several other Ryzen processors will be launched at the same time, as our colleagues from PC Games Hardware also report.

Ryzen 7 5800X3D: New top CPU for games?

Due to a minor change in the architecture, the latency for some computing processes is slightly improved in the new Ryzen 7 with the 3D V-Cache technology. The amount of Level 3 cache also increases from 32 to 96 megabytes - this can be an advantage especially for games, since any unnecessary latency can ensure that the actual total computing time doesn't increase, but the start of the computing process is slightly delayed. The level 3 cache is arranged differently than usual with 3D V-Cache: There are three cache layers on top of each other, which can exchange data with each other, so that - hence the name - the data can flow in three dimensions.

AMD talks about a performance increase of 15 percent in Full HD for the new Ryzen 7 5800X3D compared to a Ryzen 9 5900X. Thus, the Ryzen 7 5800X3D would be the fastest gaming CPU for the mainstream socket AM4. As far as the prices in Germany are concerned, we can only make a preliminary estimate. The Ryzen 9 5900X currently costs 480 Euros, but offers more cores than the Ryzen 7 5800X3D, which is a much more important argument than the FPS values in games, especially for some professional users. The Ryzen 7 5800X, on the other hand, currently costs from 330 Euros, and its MSRP was $449 at release, just like the upcoming Ryzen 7 5800X3D. Presumably, the Ryzen 7 5800X3D will be somewhere between the two already available Ryzen 7 and 9 CPUs. We consider a price of around 380 to 420 Euros realistic, which would also be within the 410 Euros calculated from the dollar price.

But which other CPUs will AMD launch on April 20? In order to give Intel a little more fire under the socket even below 250 Euros, AMD will expand the offer beside the Ryzen 7 5800X3D with the Ryzen 5 models 4500, 4600G, 5500 and 5600, which are supposed to cost between 129 and 199 Dollars as a recommended price. There will also be a Ryzen 3 4100 ($99) and the Ryzen 7 5700X ($299).
