Our editorial team’s workspaces and gaming areas have been getting a lot of attention lately. However, we reckon our Community’s desks are every bit as interesting. Here’s your chance to show us yours.

In a series of articles, our editorial team have been giving you a peek at their workspaces. Although we’re yet to finish the series, it’s generated quite the response. We’ve received comments on everything from cable management from hell, to LED wall decor tips, to criticism on the positioning of a water cooler in a PC case. One article inspired somebody to suggest that the Community itself could show off its desk setups:

Have you mastered the art of cable management? Is your desk basically made of LEDs? Or are there any other special features that make your work and gaming space a setup worth seeing? If so, this is your chance to show everybody.

Here’s how you can take part:

  • Send us a nice photo of your working-from-home setup and/or gaming area. This is to give us a first impression.
  • Give us a brief description of what makes your desk unique. Two or three sentences is enough.
  • Tell us a little about who you are, what you do and which aspects of your equipment are most important to you.
  • Send everything by 20 May 2024 to redaktion@digitecgalaxus.ch with the subject line «Desk setup».

Here’s what’ll happen next:

  • We’ll look through all the entries, select the most exciting desk setups and contact the people they belong to.
  • If you’re selected, we’ll send you a form with a few questions about your setup. We’ll use your answers as the basis for the article.
  • After that, you’ll be asked to send us a few additional close-ups of your desk. If you’re unable or unwilling to take these photos yourself, we’ll come over to photograph your workspace and gaming area ourselves. We’ll also clear up any final details.
  • Once the article’s finished, we’ll send you a preview. As long as you don’t have any last-minute objections, it’ll then be published in our magazine.

Conditions for participation:

  • If you want us to come to your home to take the photos, you need to be resident in Switzerland. If you live elsewhere, you’ll need to be able to provide good photos yourself.
  • You need to be aged 18 or over.
  • You give us permission to publish an article on your desk setup (including images) on our websites.
  • You accept that the Community will be able to post its reaction to your setup. As always, the Community Guidelines we’ve put in place to ensure respectful interaction on our platforms apply.

In my world, Super Mario chases Stormtroopers with a unicorn and Harley Quinn mixes cocktails for Eddie and Peter at the beach bar. Wherever I can live out my creativity, my fingers tingle. Or maybe it's because nothing flows through my veins but chocolate, glitter and coffee.
