If you've started your adventure in Elden Ring after the positive reviews from the trade press and from our test, and you're already successfully riding through the in-between land thanks to our beginner's tips, then you might have stumbled across an illusion wall or two.

These suspicious walls have existed in From Software games since time immemorial and often hide valuable secrets and treasures. To expose such an illusion wall, all you have to do is stand in front of it and give it a hearty blow with your weapon, and the barrier will vanish into thin air and open the way.

Where are the illusion walls hiding in Elden Ring?

From Software has remained true to itself and has also included a number of illusion walls in Elden Ring, where it is definitely worth knowing their locations. Because the game doesn't always obviously show whether you're standing in front of such a barrier or not. So the only solution is to hit all the walls in the game that seem suspicious to you.

Locations of all known illusion walls

In the crystal cave of the academy: in the cave, after passing through a wooden door, you'll find a room with a mage who can withstand quite a lot and guard another room. The illusion wall is located on the left side of the entrance to the room guarded by the mage.

There are three illusion walls in the Raya Lucaria Academy: the first one is located just to the right after you enter the Church of the Cuckoo. The second one is right after the place of grace "Schoolhouse Classroom" on the left, in the room with the bookshelves. The bookcase behind which the wall is located has no books. The third illusion wall is also a bookshelf with no books. If you run back from the place of mercy where you fought the Red Wolf of Radagon, it is on the right near the stairs.

In the Altus Tunnel: Leave the Place of Mercy behind and follow the left corridor down the stairs. At the end of the corridor is a room with two bell wizards on a pedestal. Go up the stairs to them, the wall behind them will be the illusion wall.

In the Black Blade Catacombs: When you get to the top with the giant drop knives, the illusion wall is at the end of the hallway. Behind it is an optional boss.

In the Royal Ruins: By the road to House Caria, there is a large illusion wall that blocks the way to House Caria and Master Blacksmith Iji. There is also another illusion wall in the ruins that hides the stairs to a secret cellar.

The catacombs at the end of the path are also full of illusion walls: The first two are on the level below the switch, the next two are one more floor below. Here, it's best to hit every suspicious-looking wall.

Near Faroth Fortress in Caelid: Here you need to find a group of tombstones. The rock wall behind it will reveal Sellia's hiding place after a hearty blow.

The sealed tunnel outside the walls of the royal capital Leyndell: Here you will find several alleged dead ends, behind which another way is always hidden if you make the corresponding illusion wall disappear with a courageous blow.

The last illusion walls on our list are hidden in the Vulcan house: After you have opened the first drawing room on the right side of the corridor with the key, there are a number of illusion walls at the right end of the room. Since you can't attack in this area, however, you'll have to bring this illusion wall down with a roll. We wish you good luck on your scavenger hunt!
