Five fashion brands I think we should add to our range

Galaxus sells «pretty much everything». But if you ask me, it’s missing a trick on not stocking these five fashion brands. Here’s my ambitious wish list.

You wouldn’t necessarily associate Galaxus with fashion. But believe it or not, you’ll find more than a million fashion items listed on our site. To be honest, most of them leave me cold. However, if you’re willing to do a little digging, you can come across some unexpected treasures. Personally, I’d like to see even more of these gems. If this were my dream concert line-up and I were the conductor, here are the five brands I’d add to the orchestra.

1. Filippa K

Swedish brand Filippa K is all about minimalist fashion combining timeless elegance with modern aesthetics. These threads do come at a price, but everything I’ve bought so far has been worth it. I’ve been wearing the Darcey trousers for years now, and swear by them. In fact, I’ve now got them in two colours. These wide, fabric trousers are made from wool and have a very different drape to thin polyester styles.

2. Osoi

Osoi bags are cool, sometimes playful and always stylish. Though the Korean brand’s interesting shapes, colours and details don’t exactly come cheap, its prices are certainly fair. I love my Folder Brot bag – not least because it’s unexpectedly spacious. It may look extremely compact, but it has room for both a Kindle and a water bottle alongside my essentials. Magic!

3. Skims

Think what you like about Kim Kardashian, but her company, Skims, is undeniably successful. And for good reason. Well-cut underwear and perfectly fitting basics are surprisingly hard to find. At Skims, however, that’s not the case. Any time I see my colleagues Nati and Pia wearing one of the brand’s flattering tops, the temptation to finally order one for myself grows even stronger. It probably won’t be long until I cave.

4. Miista

The shoes from London-based label Miista are anything but run-of-the-mill, mass-produced fare. Instagram’s abound with behind-the-scenes glimpses of its Spanish manufactory, where witchy, punky designs take on their leather form. After raving about them from afar for a long time, I finally ordered my own pair in the sale. My colleague Pia, on the other hand, has sworn by the brand (and its quality) for a long time. She owns four pairs of Miistas, one of which she’s been wearing for five years. Having been resoled once, they still look almost as good as new.

5. Simuero

I love jewellery that’s simple and robust, but still special. And that’s exactly what Simuero has to offer. Its rings, necklaces, bracelets and other items are handmade in Spain by founder Rocío and founder Jorge – and it shows. These organically shaped, nature-inspired designs look as if they smell like the sea and the earth, and become one with the body. The only reason I haven’t ordered any Simuero jewellery yet is because there are too many gorgeous pieces to choose from.
