Umbra Sticks Multi Hook
Kim moves and settles in: The hallway (part 1)
I'm currently moving into a bigger flat and am looking for some new furniture. In this series, I'm browsing the Galaxus shop for each of my rooms and introducing a few products that I can imagine using in my new place. Let's start with the hallway.
I'm currently in the middle of moving house. I'm moving into a newly renovated 2.5-room flat of around 67 square metres in beautiful Hamburg-Barmbek. I still have a lot of furniture from my old flats - this is my 16th move in my adult life - but I still want to partially refurnish. I'm therefore looking for three to four products from the Galaxus shop for each room in my new home (hallway, bathroom, bedroom, kitchen, living room and hobby/study), which I'll be presenting to you here. At the end of the short series, I'll show you what I actually chose and how I fared.
1. the wardrobe
The matching coat rack was not only my first thought for the hallway, but also my first find in the shop: The "Sticks" from Umbra won me over straight away. I don't want a large complete set or a coat rack, but a stylish combination of hooks. And that's exactly what the "Sticks" offer me. Five hooks are more than enough for me and my few jackets.
2. the bench seat
Yes, I'm no longer the youngest at the age of 37. Thanks to an accident in my youth, I also have nasty knee pain from time to time. That's why I want to put a small bench in my hallway. The "EKHO" bench from Vasagle immediately caught my eye. The dimensions fit perfectly in my hallway: nicely in the front right corner. It also offers enough space for a few pairs of shoes. My colleague Anika also told me straight away that she swears by the brand ever since she TV bench and a small table: "Vasagle has really good value for money. The furniture is very sturdy, quick to assemble even on your own and some friends have already asked me where I got these beautiful pieces from."
3. the decoration
I could imagine a plant or a poster to brighten up the room. I like the ficus ginseng as a plant. However, my problem is that the space might be too dark for the ficus. It needs a bright spot without bright sunlight. That could be a bit of a problem in the hallway. Otherwise, it is one of the most popular bonsai species for beginners. So just right for me.
As a decorative alternative, I like a poster of Heisenberg, the alter ego of Walter White. This role was played by Bryan Cranston in the AMC series "Breaking Bad". The two brothers Francis and Laurence Minoza from the island of Cebu in the Philippines created this work as part of their "Nicebleed" project. The poster is available in different sizes. So I would just have to find the right size for me.
What should not be missing in your hallway when you redecorate? Let me know in the comments.
