Nothing Phone (1): The Snapdragon 778G+ is the next info tidbit
The Nothing Phone (1) will have a good mid-range chipset. The lack of top hardware makes rumors about a low price seem realistic.
Nothing tries to fuel the hype about its first smartphone with little tidbits of info - and I cannot quite escape the game. There is news about the installed processor and the color options.
Snapdragon 778G+: The plus stands for wireless charging
Nothing confirms to Input Magazine that the Snapdragon 778G+ will be installed in the Phone (1). There is only one change compared to the Snapdragon 778G: The plus means that the chipset supports wireless and reverse wireless charging. According to Nothing, Qualcomm has added this feature exclusively for the Phone (1). Normally, wireless charging is reserved for the manufacturer's top processors.
The lack of a top chipset makes rumors that the Phone (1) should cost under $500 seem more realistic. At the very least, the Snapdragon 778G+ makes it difficult to justify a price in the range of the top models. "Too slow" should not be the chipset and fits the previous statements of company founder Carl Pei. In his opinion, technical specifications have become irrelevant. It would be about experiencing, using and feeling the technology. The LED-lit back of the smartphone fits in with that. Pei told Input magazine they chose the 778G+ because of the combination of performance, power consumption and its price.
Black variant surfaced
Nothing itself has only published photos and videos of the Phone (1) in white so far. Winfuture has now also published pictures of a black variant. Fits the colors in which, the only other product of Nothing so far, the headphones Ear (1) have appeared.
The final presentation of the Nothing Phone (1) is announced for July 12.
