IFA 2023: Our reports from Berlin

The new top model from Dreame, which celebrated its premiere at the IFA tech fair in Berlin, is not a bargain. The L20 Ultra will cost between 1200 and 1300 francs/euros when it comes onto the market at the beginning of September. The manufacturer has also put everything into the robot that is technically possible today.

The big speciality: the vacuum cleaner can clean your home completely autonomously for up to 75 days without you having to do anything yourself. Thanks to the suction station. The dust is collected in a 3.2-litre bag. At the same time, the station cleans the robot's mop and dries it again straight away. There is a separate 4.5 litre water tank for this purpose. The robot's water tank is also topped up automatically. And the suction station can even top up with detergent.

If there is a carpet, the mops can be lifted

The manufacturer has also introduced a new system for cleaning corners and edges. The sensors recognise these and then guide the mops as close as possible to the edge. They can also be extended slightly for this purpose. This allows them to reach areas that would otherwise not be mopped.

A speciality of Dreame's top models is the combination of vacuuming and wet pick-up. Dust and particles are removed from the floor first, then the two rotary mops are used. If the robot detects a carpet, you can decide what the robot should do. Either the mops are automatically removed in the base station, the robot lifts them a few centimetres - or it moves around the carpet completely.

The base station is huge, but it also has plenty of space for dust and waste water.

Thanks to dirt sensors, the L20 Ultra can register short-term changes in the home and adjust the cleaning intervals. For example, if the dog or cat has found a new favourite spot or a window is often open during the pollen season.

By the way, Dreame has not only changed the logo and given itself a fresher look, but is also offering a three-year guarantee for the new top model instead of two.

Gadgets are my passion - whether you need them for the home office, for the household, for sport and pleasure or for the smart home. Or, of course, for the big hobby next to the family, namely fishing.
