What's in my bag: art accompanies Michelle at every turn

In this series, the members of the editorial team show you what they pack in their bags when they leave the house - whether for business or pleasure. Michelle always has everything with her.

I took a while to find my perfect rucksack. After all, it's my daily companion. Whether I'm going to the office, doing sport or on holiday. My rucksack has to do everything. Thanks to the Velcro surface, it can even be customised visually and I can slap patches on it in all different ways.

Two smartphones in my luggage are the norm

First work, then pleasure: I regularly test smartphones. That's why I often have two with me. My current favourites: The Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold and the Google Pixel 8.

Art is always there, whether digital or analogue

As an artist, the muse captures me at the most diverse moments. That's why my iPad Pro (2018) is always with me. I often turn my art into small stickers. I liii(...)iove stickers. That's why you'll find them on all kinds of objects. On my work device, the Macbook Air (M1), for example.

iPad and keyboard are getting a bit long in the tooth, but are always faithful companions for my art.

In addition to my digital art, I also use analogue art and always have a few pens with me for doodling. My absolute favourite: the Tombow Fudenosuke. My colleague Simon often wants to challenge me for it.

I also keep an analogue agenda, with a bullet journal. I draw an elaborate watercolour on the cover every month and keep the rest as simple as possible. This way, I always keep my appointments and to-do lists organised. Just like the famous Bullet Journal method, which I've sworn by for years.

Bullet Journal and pens should never be missing when I leave the house.

I'm uninspired at the moment, so I'm lugging a comic around with me. I'm currently reading my way through a childhood favourite: the W.I.T.C.H series. This has partly led me to my current art style.

All kinds of stuff from Marvel to "Friends"

I also like to combine what I love with my everyday bits and bobs. For example, I have a little Spider-Gwen on my key ring. If you look closely and are familiar with the superhero universe, you'll find a funny mistake in the key ring. Just ignore the Paw Patrol pendant, a gift from my niece... I've also included a keycap keyring for the nervous finger. My fidget spinner for geeks, so to speak.

From key rings to lip balm: my favourite series and films are easily recognisable.

My current lip balm looks like a cup from the Central Perk, the café where the group from the series "Friends" spent their lives. The best series ever! I carry my feminine hygiene products around discreetly and inconspicuously in a tin. It's decorated with a motif by the great Czech artist Alfons Mucha.

In my world, Super Mario chases Stormtroopers with a unicorn and Harley Quinn mixes cocktails for Eddie and Peter at the beach bar. Wherever I can live out my creativity, my fingers tingle. Or maybe it's because nothing flows through my veins but chocolate, glitter and coffee.
