Product details
The Intel Directed I/O virtualization technology (VT-d) continues the existing support for virtualization solutions for IA-32 (VT-x) and Itanium processor systems (VT-i) and expands it to include support for I/O device virtualization. Intel VT-d can help users improve the security and reliability of systems as well as the performance of I/O devices in virtualized environments. With Intel Virtualization Technology (VT-x), a hardware platform can be utilized as multiple "virtual" platforms. It offers improved manageability through reduced downtime and maintains productivity by shifting computing tasks into separate partitions. Intel AES New Instructions (Intel AES-NI) is a set of instructions for fast and secure encryption and decryption of data. AES-NI are valuable components for cryptographic applications, such as mass encryption/decryption, authentication, random number generation, and authentication encryption.
Intel Rapid Storage Technology provides protection, performance, and scalability for desktop and mobile platforms. Users can take advantage of improved performance and reduced power consumption when using one or more hard drives. With two or more hard drives, data can also be protected from loss in the event of a hard drive failure. It is the successor to Intel Matrix Storage Technology.
