Product details
The GF30mmF5.6 T/S is a wide-angle lens with a focal length of 30 mm. It is equally suitable for landscape and architectural photography. The optical system comprises 16 elements in eleven groups, including
three aspherical lenses, two ED lenses and one Super ED lens.
The design enables advanced optical correction of image errors and a high resolution. A large-diameter aspherical front lens and three ED elements guarantee flawless imaging performance. Distortion and lateral chromatic aberration are corrected without electronic aids. Spherical aberrations, coma and image field curvature are reduced to a minimum, ensuring high sharpness right into the corners of the image even when the lens plane is shifted.
The Nano GI coating developed by Fujifilm ensures flawless image quality. It causes a slight change in the refractive index on the lens surface and thus suppresses unwanted reflections, which often cause annoying flare spots or ghost images, especially with wide-angle lenses.
The tilt-shift mechanism allows the focal plane (tilt) to be shifted by ±8.5° and the lens plane (shift) to be moved by ±15 mm.
The advanced optical construction of the GF30mmF5.6 T/S enables an exceptionally compact design. Although it illuminates an image circle of approx. 85 mm Ø, the lens is only 138.5 mm long and weighs just 1,340 grams. The use of an aspherical element as the front lens results in an easy-to-handle filter size of 105 mm Ø, so that a variety of filter attachments can be used in landscape and architectural photography, for example.
The lens is supplied with a special tripod clamp, which also serves as an aid to correct slight shifts in the optical centre when the lens plane is panned. This helps to avoid parallax errors when taking pictures so that several individual images can later be seamlessly combined to create a panorama or multishot shot.
