The K-r achieves a semiprofessional level thanks to the new High Speed 11-point autofocus with SAFOX IX+, as well as the latest, very low-noise generation of the 12.4 MP CMOS sensor in APS format, a maximum shutter speed of 1/6000 second, and a sensitivity range from ISO 100 to ISO 25,600.

Die Auflösungsleistung der Pentax liegt im Vergleich zur Konkurrenz deutlich zurück, zeichnet sich dennoch mit klaren und detaillierten Bildern aus. Beim Rauschverhalten muss sie sich ebenso geschlagen geben, wobei es hier um Schwächen auf höchstem Niveau geht.

Die Pentax K-r erzielte mit dem getesteten Kit-Objektiv eine nur befriedigende Bildqualität. Schuld daran sind in erster Linie die extreme Verzeichnung im Weitwinkel sowie die etwas zu niedrigen Ergebnisse beim Wirkungsgrad und der Ausgangsdynamik. Hinsichtlich ihrer Bedienung konnte die Spiegelreflexkamera jedoch überzeugen, und ihr Star-Wars-Design ist der Knaller.
Rumpelstilzchen. Gute Spiegelreflexkamera für wenig Geld. Aber: Mäßiger Verwacklungsschutz. Das mitgelieferte Standardobjektiv 18-55 AL erzeugt viele Gegenlichtreflexe. Besonderheit: HDR-Funktion, verrechnet drei Aufnahmen eines Motivs zu einem optimierten Bild. Sehr schnell.

Die Pentax K-r ist zwar als preisgünstige Pentax-DSLR das Einsteigermodell (die K-r ist ein Auslaufmodell), ist aber von der Ausstattung her eher der Mittelklasse zuzuordnen - und sie macht in beiden Klassen eine sehr gute Figur.

Pentax bietet mit der K-r eine Spiegelreflexkamera an, die sich vor allem für den Einstieg in die Spiegelreflex-Fotografie anbietet. Optisch mag die Kamera manchem zu sehr nach Plastik aussehen, technisch bewegt sie sich aber im typischen DSLR-Bereich. Die Bildqualität überzeugt und die Bedienung gestaltet sich unkompliziert, bietet dem Fotografen gleichzeitig aber umfangreiche manuelle Einstellungen...
