- Quickly ready for use
- Everything in one app for Hue fans
- Light alarm on movement
- No pairing with smart home
- Cloud storage and extras only with a plan
The solid guardian for indoors and outdoors offers good HD video and many functions. The camera integrates seamlessly into the Hue system and works together with the popular lamps: When movement is detected, the light switches on and the cam provides evidence. However, recordings and cloud storage require a paid subscription. Also: Hue Secure does not (yet) recognise Alexa, Google and Apple.
- Ready to go quickly
- Everything controllable in one app
- Light alarm on movement
- Relatively expensive
- Cloud storage and some functions only with a monthly subscription
At hefty prices from 200 euros upwards, Philips Hue offers solid guards that deliver decent HD video and many functions. However, some of these are reserved for paid subscriptions, as are recordings and cloud storage. This hardly seems appealing, as other manufacturers offer 4K resolution, local storage at no extra cost for less money and can also be used with Alexa, the Google Assistant or Apple Home.
