The power must be sufficient for the connected device. The cable transmits the power from the USB-C charger to the MagSafe "consumer". Since there are about 15 different devices, this question cannot be answered globally. Simply "google" the device and search for the charging power.
I charge my Macbook Air and an iPhone at the same time without any problems on a 100 watt adapter.
Charging the Mac Book only works with a 60 Watt charger, according to the list at LogiLink. Charging did not work for me with other chargers.
I don't think you can charge a MacBook (2010+) with 18W, regardless of the cable.
It works with the iPad's 45W power supply, which is the minimum I've tried.
The cable is not bottleneck. charging is normally fast. we use 45W and 85W adapters.
This answer is not helpful. I do not want to buy this carpet.
Unfortunately, that didn't work for me, despite a powerbank especially for MacBooks.... However, my MacBook is from early 2013.
