Absolutely recommended -- white is sensitive but ...
Already had the predecessor - brilliant. Now the Paperwhite - even more ingenious. The lighting makes all the difference.
BUT it costs. I can read for months with my original Kindle without the light, but with the Paperwhite the battery runs out in about 6 weeks.
What's cool: In Switzerland, you can buy a sponsored model. Because there are no advertisers, there is never any advertising. That was different with the original model, which had American advertising.
But after a few years you can change every sponsored device with a simple mail. It's easy and permanent.Pro
- Buy sponsored model and you still have no advertising
- The lighting is cool, especially in dim light
- Long-lasting - my original model (without lamp) is still running great
- And at the time, Digitec was still importing them grey into Switzerland.
- THE standard - like the original IBM keypad
- Memory seems small, but holds a huge amount

- White is sensitive as a shell colour - but gives patina
- The lighting reduces the battery time by at least 50% to 6 weeks.
- The KindleUniverse is closed, but has as many books as all the others put together.
- Book prices are mostly between 0 - 4 EUR - so cheap compared to the competition
- You get a lot of German books, but even more foreign language books if you want.

I bought the device for my wife. She is thrilled. With the Amazon book subscription, she can read even more books for very little money.

After a LONG time of going back and forth, I decided to switch from normal books to kindle. Together with the Calibre programme, I wouldn't want to be without it!
