I was a bit worried at the beginning because some Mate 20 Pro had problems with the display (green/yellow tint), at least the ones with the LG panel, the BOE are supposedly not affected.
However, I have to say that the Mate 20 is awesome and I even like EMUI 9.
What really impressed me besides the Kirin 980 was the Dual GPS and Face ID!
With the GPS, it is possible for the first time that my location is displayed with an accuracy of 4 m in my flat!
With other smartphones alone, nothing was displayed or an accuracy of 60m!
What still bothers me personally is the "jelly" and "micro stutter" effect in 4K recordings even in performance mode. I hope Huawei fixes this with an update.
PS. Two more demo pictures I took with the Mate 20 Pro. (Attention, size limited to 5MB, 40 Megapixel unfortunately not possible as upload)
Edit:
Unfortunately I had a run of bad luck with the BOE panels, they all had a red/pink cast.
A repair on a device that is not even 1 day old and IP68 certified is not exactly thrilling.
Edit 2:
After 5 defective Mate 20 Pro, I gave up on the phone.
As you can see, even Digitec.ch now has almost 20 used/repaired Mate 20 Pro listed!

The smartphone is simply fun to use. It is equipped with a very good camera and is clearly superior to the competition in all technical aspects.

After 12 hours of use with phone calls, what's app writing, surfing with Bluetooth on and GPS for the watch, I still have 80% battery... This is insane... Display is fantastic face id unlocks extremely fast...one handed operation.... Note the new watch is also top...

The battery is simply amazing (including on the watch gt that was offered in pre-order with it). The photos are exceptional for a phone. It's still a long way from an SLR (fortunately?!), but in any case it allows you to take excellent photos in all circumstances.
Definitely a good value.

Long battery, super display. Great face recognition, very fast. Almost perfect, actually. What bothered me the most were the weak speakers. Even my old LG G5 with only one speaker had clearer sound.

Truly deserves its title of phone of the year. Huawei with his phone took the best from Iphone and Galaxy S.
No glitches, no drawbacks...
Battery is impressive, reverse wireless phone charging useless and not very effctive.
Camera is the best you could find Ina smartphone. Crushes Pixel 3 camera...

I am a big fan of OnePlus and had to choose between the OnePlus 6T and the Huawei Mate 20 Pro. The Mate 20 Pro is extremely expensive, but it was still the right decision!

Easier to use with Android 9.0
200 mAh more than the previous Huawei models that we don't notice, but the fast charging is really very fast!
Unfortunately, even if you change the screen background, in the phone function and suggestions the background remains the same (purple-pink colours of Huawei).
The speed of the processor is more than satisfying!

The Huawei Mate 20 Pro is convincing all along the line and, in my opinion, the best flagship currently on the market.
The OLED display is pin sharp, convinces with high brightness and good viewing angle stability. Contrast and black levels are brilliant.
The performance is 1A. The thing runs smoothly, quickly and reliably. Even with complex games, there are no micro-stutters or other shortcomings. The battery life is outstanding. I've never had a phone with such a long battery life. Charging has never been so fast. I can get the smartphone from 10% to 75% within 30 minutes. The hammer!
The camera is on the same level as the Google Pixel and the latest iPhones. Especially in low light, the camera is clearly ahead of all other smartphone flagships.

I am completely satisfied with this flagship high-end device! The build quality is top notch, but if you have outgrown the phase of cherishing your new device like a newborn, even this one will shatter into hundreds of splinters after a fall onto the concrete (glass remains glass).
Nevertheless, thanks to the outstanding battery case and the sophisticated camera system, this mobile phone offers all high-end lovers a long time of pleasure when using it.
Huawei's proprietary EMUI operating system takes some getting used to at first, but once you get the hang of it, your own productivity increases enormously.
For the expensive purchase price, you also get what you pay for. Innovation packed into a modern and even thinner glass casing (consider the enormous 4,200 mAh battery), of which other manufacturers are only in the development phase.
Keep it up Huawei!

I have the following defects:
Software :
- The Huawei calendar keeps changing the calendar colours on its own. This bug was already present in the P20 Pro. Unfortunately, Huawei always takes forever (almost a year) until something works. The same was true for the widget bug (scrollable widgets did not update).
- The Huawei Mail app can't push Gmail (and that's in 2018) The notification LED can't be controlled with this app either.
- Jerky at times e.g. when switching from an app to the homescreen via gesture. Animations are still much smoother on an OP6 (even if you change the animation speed).
- Twin apps cannot be secured with fingerprint or face unlock.
Hardware:
- at high brightness, the light shimmers through at the bottom between the frame and the display at the "dividing lines". I assume that it will not be waterproof for 30 seconds. There has to be a gap so that light can get through. I have never had this with a phone.
Otherwise everything has been great so far. :) But I've only been using it for a few hours.
Update :
Now from the 3 day also appears here the Gluegate. I have an LG panel installed and not the BOE.
Another update: if you change the resolution from 4K to medium, the jerking is gone.
Update 3: The device was exchanged because of the defect. Thanks for the hint regarding DOA. My new device also has an LG display and it's already starting again with the green cast on dark backgrounds at low display brightness. I hope it doesn't get stronger, with the last device you could see it at the end even in normal daylight and in normal institutional use. Videos, photos, etc. were no longer nice to look at.

Great mobile phone. For less experienced users, the possibilities can hardly be fully exploited. It is a pity that Digitec does not create a place where less experienced users can be supported in installing such a great mobile phone. This would be part of an overall service and would probably be incentive enough to turn to Digitec even more.

Great display, relatively long battery life and really good cameras for a smartphone, even with an ultra-wide angle. Switching from iOS to Android is simple.

The 2018 smartphone is called Mate20Pro
Hello, I am 40 and a smartphone junkie.
After the Huawei P8 and P10, the Mate 20 Pro is my third smartphone from Huawei and it convinces almost across the board.
The Mate feels great in the hand, it is perfectly manufactured and the OLED display convinces with razor-sharp resolution. The Leica Triple Cam takes great photos and makes it easy for even a beginner to take successful snapshots.
The night mode is a feast for the eyes, but you should use a tripod otherwise the photo will be blurred (exposure time).
The transfer of my data via Phoneclone was completed within a short time.
Thanks to the quick-charge function, the large battery is full again within a very short time.
My only criticism is that the fingerprint sensor is on the display and when using a protective film, it works with a delay. The face recognition, on the other hand, works perfectly.
Conclusion: The Huawei Mate 20 Pro is currently the best smartphone on the market.
128 GB memory, 6 GB RAM, Leica Triple Cam, face recognition and the OLED display are big plus points of the Mate 20 Pro.
Only the fingerprint sensor does not work in conjunction with the protective film.
Cons: Fingerprint sensor on the display in conjunction with protective film
Pros: OLED display , superb Leica Triple Cam , Edge display , battery life , fast charging function , workmanship , AI recognises various objects

Since many things have already been reviewed, I don't have to write the same thing again. I come from the Galaxy S7 and have to say that it is perverse what great and intelligent features Huawei software has in its phone. The camera still takes a little getting used to but practice makes perfect. Even just the AI when writing text, the error correction is REMARKABLE.
I was afraid that my features would be missing, but everything is there.
I think the Samsung internet browser is great, I was able to install it as well. (Very fast browser)
The Emui has too big tiles for me, but when I install the apex over it, functions are missing, e.g. when long pressing apps. I will probably have to get used to it
