Super part - however, the enclosed...
Super part - however, the Samsung Data Manager programme and the promised USB adaptor were missing on the enclosed CD. I therefore bought this adapter from Icy Box.
With it - and with the separately downloaded Samsung Data Manager programme - I was able to clone the existing (too small) SSD without any problems and the PC now runs like clockwork.

My previous SSD (it was not made by Samsung) died after two years of moderate home use. The symptom was a sudden black screen with a "please insert system disk" (or similar) message. I could reboot once or twice, but no more.
I bought the PRO version hoping that it would last longer than the cheaper consumer-grade device I had before. The rationale is that the extra cost of a "pro" SSD far outweighs the time needed to make a fresh install of the operating system, office software, email configuration, etc. (It is of course too soon to tell if that was a good investment.)
My PC is already 5-6 years old, at the time an upper-mid-range quad-core Intel CPU, ASUS Motherboard with SATA-3 HDD interface. Considering that the speed of an SSD drive outruns the pace of SATA-3, I did not expect any speed improvement. But I did notice some improvement in the write speed, which came as a surprise. I cannot comment on read speed, because the observed improvement is most likely the result of a fresh Windows 7 and Office installation.

I also bought the Samsung 850 Pro to replace an SSD that was too small.
The migration from Windows 8.1 went smoothly thanks to the software supplied. Acronis TI 2015, on the other hand, bucked violently!
After booting, only the boot option had to be redefined.
The SSD is lightning fast - so far I can only recommend it highly.

The hard drive runs and does its job as a system partition very well. I think the 10-year guarantee is great, let's see what's actually in it in 2024.
The scope of delivery is very spartan. Apart from the hard drive, there is actually nothing else in the packaging. The software is only necessary for migration or disk replacement.Pro

Super fast delivery! Then installed in the Macbook Pro Early 2011,... went quickly with instructions on IFixit.com,... only the installation of OS X needed nerves. But that's not the SSD's fault,... ;-)

Got the Samsung 850 Pro as a replacement for a ...
I bought the Samsung 850 Pro to replace an SSD that was too small. The migration worked perfectly thanks to the software that came with it.
Nevertheless, the PC no longer started. After many hours of tinkering, "disconnecting" all components (the problem was the data HDD without the operating system on it) and successive reconnection, everything is now working perfectly again.

I am positively surprised. I switched from an older Samsung 840 EVO to the Pro version.
For all those who are asking: Is the surcharge for the Pro version worth it? YES definitely! Programs start faster especially the Office
365 programmes. Even open multiple programs at the same time, all in milliseconds.
Despite Bitlocker encryption, the performance does not decrease. This is also confirmed by the benchmark results: Without Bitlocker read and write speed 545 MB, with Bitlocker 523 MB. So there is virtually no difference. 3D-V-NAND technology beats the TLC of the Evos. Above all, the 10-year warranty speaks for itself.
If guarantee, security and longevity of your data are important to you, you should treat yourself to the Pro version.Pro

My buy recommendation
I have already installed several Samsung 850 Pro (formerly 840 Pro) and have never had a failure. Samsung also gives a 10-year guarantee!
The SSD is very fast and the speed can be increased even more by activating "Rapid Mode".
The SSD can be monitored and configured very well with the included "Magician" software. It also monitors
the storage traffic and thus indicates the theoretical end of life, so the SSD can be replaced in good time before problems arise.

It was a good purchase, I can only recommend it to others.
Mount the installation frame for the PC, plug in the connections and the whole thing is finished in less than 5 minutes. Runs great and quiet, no noise to be heard. I am very satisfied.
