have meanwhile the 3rd defective controller...
- the first: rubber cover on the left stick after 1 week BF4 through
- the second one: R1 hangs and partly doesn't react anymore
- the third and current one: R2 no longer reacts reliably, L2 the same
play primarily shooter and also sometimes a little pinball or similar...
In PS2 times, when we had to abuse the controllers in games like Tony Hawk, SSX etc., this product would seriously not survive an hour!

So far, I have not experienced any problems with the rubber...
Haven't noticed any problems with the rubber on the analogue stick so far. I bought one at digitec and two controllers with the PS4 bundle and so far everything is fine. The controller sits well in my hand (I have small hands).

So, just to be clear, the controller is just awesome. Definitely a step up from the old Dualshock 3. Very comfortable in the hand, nice new features and the R2/L2 buttons finally feel like real triggers and not buttons and my fingers don't slip off the analogue sticks anymore.
When I look at the video posted by SevenEddy, I simply have the feeling that you are using the controller incorrectly. Because I play a lot and for a long time with the new pad and the rubber didn't break. I can only agree with typej2266. I now have the third controller in operation.
with the other two, R2 was defective after a short time (plastic pin broken - you have continuous fire / continuous throttle afterwards).
out of sheer paranoia, i even got another one on reserve. i've had pretty much every console, but i've never broken a controller before.

Top controller with unique colour variation.
The product itself is of the same quality as all other original PS4 controllers, but the colour, which seems to be green/blue according to the picture, differs from the actual colour. In the original, the controller is blue as actually stated in the name (Berry Blue).

I have quite big hands and was not satisfied with most controllers until now. I found the XBox 360 controller to be the best. The new PS4 controller finally sits well in my hands and I can reach all the buttons without any problems.
I can't confirm the material problems. I have two controllers, one that came directly with the PS and one that I bought at Digitec. Both are now about half a year old and still look almost like the first day. But I don't play that much on the PS4 yet, because the games on offer so far don't appeal to me that much. Nevertheless, I've already played the one free-to-play shooter in space properly and haven't discovered any problems with the controllers.
The only thing that bothers me is that the battery only lasts about 4-6 hours, depending on the intensity of use, before it has to go to the charging station. Or you have to play with a cable.
But the range is very good.Pro

I also can't understand why the controller gets so many bad reviews. I have two of them and they work perfectly so far (about two weeks in daily use). One of the L2 buttons squeaks minimally. But the noise that the buttons make "by nature" when pressed are not insignificantly more audible.

I have now exchanged my broken controller and...
I have now exchanged my broken controller and received a new one (not at Digitec), which actually has a different rubber compound on the sticks. They feel less valuable, but definitely more resistant to tearing and slipping. I can't say at the moment whether the problem with the R2/L2 buttons still exists, but playing with the controller is fun in any case.

I'm not familiar with controllers for the PS4 in general....
I'm not so happy with controllers for the PS4 in general. Unfortunately, the silicone coating on the stick comes off. The two parts are also more soft plastic than on the previous PS3.
Unfortunately, it is an original accessory and there is nothing you can do about it.

Good would not be
After the N64 controller, still one of the best controllers (of the current generation). But unfortunately, after all these years, still not suitable for use on the computer. Mostly software from third parties is needed to use the controller at all.

Worst quality ever!
After just one (!) week, the controller creaks and squeaks in all places. Extremely pronounced on the shoulder buttons, which can no longer be used without annoying squeaking noises. This is yet another way to consistently stop the fun of playing. Thank you Sony.Pro

The rubber on the left analogue stick tore after only 1 month of playing. I never had this problem with the PS3 controllers :-( Really bad quality!

If the controllers were more resistant, they would be high-end products.
I buy the controllers regularly because I keep breaking them. They are really good controllers, but unfortunately very unstable. Sony should really offer them in aluminium cases! Therefore only 1*
