Kompakt. Kam bei den Testpersonen sehr gut an. Macht subjektiv sehr scharfe Bilder. Liegt gut in der Hand, aber etwas rutschig. Drehknopf wird bei Bedienung groß ins Display eingeblendet. Eigener Knopf für Serienbild/Einzelbild. Mit GPS-Funktion. Mehrsprachige Kurzanleitung relativ dick und schwer.

Mit der HX5V ist Sony ein kleines Schmuckstück gelungen. Die sehr gute Ausstattung, bei der nur das niedrig auflösende LCD aus dem Rahmen fällt, und die sehr gute Bildwiedergabe, die manchem zu stark gesättigt erfolgt, machen die Kompaktkameras nicht nur zur Urlaubsbegleiterin. Die komplette Ausstattung der Kamera hat ihren Preis, die UVP liegt bei 349 Euro. Dafür erhält man aber eine wirklich vollständige ausgestattete Kamera, mit der es Spaß macht, zu fotografieren und die sogar noch Full-HD-Videos aufnehmen kann.
