A particularly smooth bokeh and absolute control over unwanted spherical aberration are the hallmarks of Sony's new G Lens. The Premium Lens is also equipped with an optical image stabilizer. This also allows 1:1 macro shots without a tripod.

Two powerful and above all quiet "Direct Drive SSM" (DDSSM) motors move two independent focus groups inside the lens. This ensures an extremely precise autofocus that hits its target in every situation. The special extra: When focusing, only lens groups move within the lens. From the outside nothing changes. This is especially practical for macro photography, as the lens often does its work only a few centimeters in front of the subject. To make adjustments to the lens, there is a button on the edge that fixes the focus point. In addition, you can switch from manual focus to autofocus with a single movement. To ensure that no moisture or dirt gets into the lens during outdoor shootings with small animals or flower blossoms, it is constructed in such a way that dust and raindrops have little effect on it.
