- Good sound
- Great surround sound adjustable in the app
- A little clunky and heavy
- Fiddly coupling
Yamaha takes on Apple, Sony & Co. and even beats the competition in some areas. Although the powerful sound of the YH-L700A doesn't quite come close to the first-placed models, the successful 3D function with head tracking is very good, easy to use and, above all, can be used for any audio source - great.

- secure fit
- pleasant, transparent and exact sound
- Passive operation possible
- App only for newer Android versions
- ANC somewhat weaker
- High price

This is the favourite among the competitors. Apple is being followed by Yamaha. Great: These headphones also work completely passively. The tuning is audiophile and highly musical - there the fun factor is served as well as the highest resolution. The only downside: the suppression of environmental noise also makes the sound push a little wadded up. Nevertheless: a grand master.

The Yamaha L700A are worth every penny for audiophiles. But there are also annoyances that one can overlook, which should not go unmentioned in view of the price. For example, it's hard to understand why you can't connect the headphones to several devices in parallel, despite Bluetooth 5.0...

... Seven programmes are available, from subtle ("Back-ground Music") to extreme ("Concert Hall"). Fans of 3D effects get their money's worth here. But even without the 3D functions, the Yamaha delivered a decent performance. The sound was slightly bass-driven and warmly tuned, but always powerful with lots of dynamics. Great!
Whether 3D surround sound or not, these headphones are definitely worth the money. Design, workmanship, wearing comfort, noise cancelling and sound all impressed me. If you want to go off the beaten track, you've come to the right place.
