So ... good news: a set of ink cartridges is included. However, the normal size, not the XL version. Bad news: the printer cannot do duplex scanning. At least, when I was working and trying out the feeder scan tray, I never managed to scan both sides of a document without doing it manually by re-feeding the sheet.
