Question about Perfection V850 Pro - 575025

Hello together Do I need additional software (Lr or Photoshop) if I want to digitise slides and colour negative films with the Epson V850? Or is the software already available in the Epson. I don't really want to change anything in my photos. Except for age damage. Colour or something. Thanks Travis

I usually have the scanned images generated in Jpeg (.jpg) format by the scanning programme. In my opinion, this is completely sufficient in terms of quality in the lowest compression. This format can be edited with all photo programmes, whether Win, Mac, Linux or Android. Clean archiving is simply also part of it, in my opinion. You don't want to spend hours looking for a particular picture. It took me a quarter of a year to mount my thousands of slides and negatives. There were also several hundred stereo slides, which was particularly tricky. I still occasionally take pictures with a Russian panorama camera on KB negative film. It can be scanned with good results. This format (with a rotating lens) does not exist digitally. Greetings Nozi

The scanner comes with "Epson Scan", a programme that can be used to digitise negatives or slides of all sizes. In my opinion, it is sufficient for normal requirements. If you want to make colour adjustments, you can use PS, LR or Gimp. Of course, calibration of the monitor used is recommended. A scan programme from "SilverFast" is also included. However, it is difficult to use. "Epson Scan" is faster. Otherwise, the image quality that can be achieved with this scanner is quite good in my opinion.
