The smoke detector is a particularly reliable alarm device in the Homematic IP security solution. It warns of a developing fire by detecting the first smoke. The wireless smoke detector can be networked not only within the Homematic IP system itself but also with other identical wireless smoke detectors, allowing for the monitoring of large buildings and distant rooms. In addition to the acoustic signal output, a bright LED light in the smoke detector is activated in case of an alarm to provide emergency lighting. The optical scattered light smoke detector features a Q-label and offers LED emergency lighting upon alarm activation to illuminate escape routes. It can also be used as a siren, for example, for a burglary alarm, within the Homematic IP security solution. A metal mesh around the smoke chamber prevents false alarms caused by insects.
