A frothy topping is the crowning glory for cappuccino, latte macchiato and the like. Preparing it by hand, however, requires patience and is fraught with problems: milk boils over and the result leaves much to be desired. With electric milk frothers, the frothy topping is almost a matter of course. Stiftung Warentest tested ten devices: Eight did well, two were only satisfactory. The main differences are in preparation and environmental properties (prices 23 to 99 euros).
