Kim moves house and settles in: The bathroom (part 2)

I'm still in the middle of moving into a newly renovated 2.5-room flat with around 67 square metres in Hamburg. Things are progressing steadily and this time I'd like to introduce you to three or four products from the Galaxus shop for one room in my new home.

I took over the bathroom from the landlord completely renovated: Shower, washbasin, toilet. However, I was still missing a few furnishings. That's why I'm going to focus on them in this article. At the end of this series, I'll present what I actually chose and how I got on with it. And sorry: some products may not be available in all country shops.

1. brackets and shelves

It may sound strange, but I took over the bathroom from the landlords without any holders for towels or toilet paper or other shelves. I can only hang a shower towel over the wall heater. That's why these holders are at the top of my list. It's important to me that I can attach everything to the wall without drilling. I want to save myself this stress with the new tiles.

The Moon Black toilet roll holder from Tesa immediately caught my eye: an adhesive solution without drilling and in a chic black colour to boot. The toilet rolls shouldn't fall off so easily and you can mount a shelf on top if required. At this point, I would like to introduce you to such a shelf, but unfortunately I haven't found anything suitable in our shop.

I also found the Moon Black two-arm towel rail from Tesa in the same design to match the toilet roll holder.

2. the mirror light

The bathroom has a large mirror wall above the washbasin and offers the option of installing a mirror light.
Important: It should match the rest of the furnishings, i.e. have a black body. It should also be slightly wider than the washbasin. That would be around 80 centimetres.

At first glance, I like the mirror lights from V-Tac and Briloner. However, I'm not one hundred per cent satisfied with either of them. The light from V-Tac might be too weak for my purpose. I would like to have more than 780 lumens. The V-Tac light simply doesn't give me the lamp length. In the end, I'll probably have to keep looking externally.

3. the bathroom cabinet

In the bathroom, I always need storage space for towels, medication, cosmetics, cleaning products, my hairdryer and toilet paper. Everything has to be stored somewhere and I don't want to have to go into the utility room or bedroom every time. So I need a bathroom cabinet. Ideally, it should be 50 to 60 centimetres wide and 30 to 35 centimetres deep. It shouldn't be a wall cabinet, but it shouldn't stand directly on the floor either, but on its feet. Things can get wet in the bathroom.

The Abdiel bathroom cabinet from VidaXL fulfils my requirements exactly and also looks good. It measures 30 x 30 x 190 centimetres and has two open compartments in the middle. It also offers plenty of storage space with two additional compartments at the top and bottom. What I find difficult is the advice that this cabinet should be firmly secured to the wall. After all, this wall in my bathroom is not tiled and I wouldn't damage any tiles by drilling into it.
