OxygenOS 13: This is new and these OnePlus devices receive the update
With the update to Android 13, OnePlus is giving its user interface a new look and new functions. The Aquamorphic design of OxygenOS 13 is said to be inspired by water.

New design and new functions
OnePlus calls the new appearance of OxygenOS 13 Aquamorphic Design. It is inspired by water and is intended to simplify the user interface and make it clearer. According to OnePlus, the design is based on vivid colours, calming fonts, minimalist icons, natural and rounded shapes and a wide range of textures.
OxygenOS 13 not only brings a new design to your OnePlus smartphone, but also new functions. These include, for example, the integration of Spotify or delivery services on the Always-on Display (AOD) - if the smartphone has this type of screen. OnePlus wants to make the screen a more helpful tool when it is inactive. For the visual design of the AOD, you will soon be able to access canvas graphics from photos as well as bitmojis. Insight AOD shows you how long you have already used your smartphone during the day.
With OxygenOS 13, OnePlus is bringing a smart launcher to its smartphones. This includes widgets that display more information after longer presses without directly opening the associated app. It also offers small or large app sorting folders that you can swipe through without opening them. The Sidebar ToolBox collects apps and tools on one side of the screen. This should make it easier to use the smartphone with one hand.
New features that OnePlus doesn't have exclusively
With OxygenOS 13, OnePlus is also delivering support for Rich Communication Sercives in messengers as well as Spatial Audio to its devices. These are each new features of Android 13 that OnePlus is not exclusive to.
This also applies to Fast Pair and Nearby Share. Fast Pair is supposed to allow you to connect nearby devices faster via Bluetooth. A side effect of the function: switching from headphones to speakers - or vice versa - is supposed to be almost seamless. Nearby Share is meant for direct data exchange with nearby Android and Windows devices.
OnePlus also promises that OxygenOS 13 runs smoother and faster than OxygenOS 12. When gaming, you should also benefit from the new HyperBoost GPA 4.3 gaming engine. The new security features like app permissions or notification permissions of Android 13 are also included in OxygenOS 13.
These smartphones will receive OxygenOS 13
First to receive the update to OxygenOS 13 is the OnePlus 10 Pro. Later this year, the OnePlus 10T is to follow. After that, it will be the turn of the following models - although OnePlus does not give a more precise timeframe for these devices.
