Ecovacs equips the Deebot N20 Pro Plus with a bagless suction station. Surprisingly, this is a rarity among the major manufacturers.

They have state-of-the-art sensors and are controlled by artificial intelligence, but there is one area in which most modern robot hoovers are not so advanced. When they dock back to the base station after cleaning, dust and dirt are vacuumed into a bag. You have to change it regularly - just like with a normal hoover in the old days.

One of the great achievements of the last twenty years, however, is the bagless hoover. Surprisingly, robot manufacturers have neglected this until now. This now seems to be changing: With Ecovacs, one of the major brands is launching a robot vacuum with a bagless suction station.

The Deebot N20 Pro Plus comes with a 1.5-litre dirt container that you can release from the station and simply empty into the waste. According to the manufacturer, this should only be necessary every 30 to 45 days.

When vacuuming, the exhaust air is filtered so that no particles are blown back into the room. Ecovacs speaks of a 4-stage filter system, but does not reveal any details, for example regarding allergy sufferers.

No mop cleaning, but no high price either

The robot hoover itself offers the usual features: 8000 Pascal suction power, a vibrating plate with textile cover for mop cleaning and a special brush roll with comb to prevent hair from being wound up.

However, the mop is not cleaned in the base station, you have to do this manually. You also have to refill the water tank yourself, the base station can only really vacuum. Overall, this is only a mid-range appliance.

The Deebot N20 Pro Plus navigates with a laser. You can create your own maps for different floors and use the robot throughout the house. Incidentally, it can be controlled not only via the app, but also with Amazon Alexa and Google Home.

In terms of price, the new model from Ecovacs is in the mid-range at around 500 francs or euros. The robot hoover will also be coming to our shop in the next two weeks. As soon as it is available, I will link it here. <p

Gadgets are my passion - whether you need them for the home office, for the household, for sport and pleasure or for the smart home. Or, of course, for the big hobby next to the family, namely fishing.
