Product details

The Sirui 50 mm T/2.9 1.6x is an anamorphic lens, with exceptional optical performance. Specially designed for videographers, the lens also offers excellent performance in video.
This lens offers a 1.6x squeeze factor. When shooting in 3:2, you get an aspect ratio of 2.4:1. When the sensor is set to 16:9, you end up with a much wider aspect ratio of 2.8:1, the viewing experience delivered is more premium and immersive than ever before. Whether great scenes or tight shots, the images you get with this lens are of superior quality, high resolution and good sharpness. For example, if part of an image is superfluous, simply crop it out without worrying about pixel loss. The 50mm focal length provides an angle of view very close to that of the human eye. The wonderful oval bokeh adds expressiveness and aesthetics to your footage. Point a light source directly at this lens to get the characteristic blue lens flares. The anamorphic lens is known for this and adds an extra touch of magic to your image.

Shooting wide open at T2.9 with the focus concentrated on the subject will give you a shallow depth of field image with the subject in focus and other areas out of focus. Using a large aperture in low-light conditions allows the camera to capture more light and achieve a faster shutter speed. Also, the aperture ring is designed to be stepless for smooth aperture control. This fixed focal length looks super slim as the entire barrel is made of aluminum alloy. In addition, the aperture and focus rings are both designed for nice resistance and easy installation of the follow focus system. With a 1/4" thread on the bottom, the lens or quick release plate can be mounted directly.

This lens can be focused manually only. Although manual focusing takes longer and is more challenging than working with autofocus, it does offer some advantages: It allows you to focus on exactly the point you want, enabling you to take shots that are exactly what you want. You also prefer to focus manually in situations where autofocus would quickly become overwhelmed - for example, in low light, smooth surfaces with little texture, or in foggy weather.

This lens has a fixed focal length, which cannot be changed. Fixed focal lengths offer high speed, allowing you to take good pictures even in less than optimal lighting conditions. They are particularly suitable when you want to capture specific and characteristic parts of the image. Thanks to the large possible aperture, a shallower depth of field can be created. This allows you to optimally expose subjects from the background with the targeted use of sharpness and blur.
