Wirewin S/FTP patch cables are characterized by their high quality and are suitable for Gigabit or 10-Gigabit connections with up to 500 MHz operating frequency. Applications for category 6A cables are voice, multimedia and data transmission as well as ATM networks. The strands of 100% copper are double shielded. A stranded wire is a conductor consisting of a large number of thin individual wires and is therefore easy to bend. The advantage is also the high tensile strength. The cable also has bend protection. In contrast to conventional PVC cables, these cables are halogen-free: the dangerous release of halogen-containing fire gases is therefore impossible. A further advantage is that the exposure to toxic gases (e.g. hydrogen chloride gas in PVC) is reduced to a minimum. Halogen-free cables are also flame-retardant and there is no dangerous "fuse effect". Furthermore, halogen-free cables are low-smoke in case of fire.
