The name Steel-O-Flex at Abus stands for cable locks with high flexibility and double security. The steel cable is surrounded by overlapping sleeves made of hardened steel, resembling scale armor. This significantly increases resistance to break-in attempts while only moderately increasing weight and largely retaining flexibility. This flexibility allows the vehicle to be easily connected to a fixed object.

Im Test zeichnet sich das ABUS Steel-O-Flex Iven 8200 durch eine gute Haltbarkeit aus, lediglich der Zylinder könnte hier besser gegen Verschmutzungen geschützt sein. Die Schadstoffwerte sind sehr gering, ebenso wie die stabilen Schlüssel gelobt werden können. Der Schutz bei vor Aufbrüchen ist hier hingen gering.
