UTP patch cable of category 6. Halogen-free, flame-retardant jacket. Conductors made of 100% copper. Gold-plated connectors with strain relief. The conductors made of 100% copper are unshielded, and the cable features strain relief. The jacket is made from halogen-free materials and is highly flame-retardant.
The UTP cable consists of a plastic jacket that houses the unshielded, twisted pairs of wires. Due to the lack of shielding, UTP cables have a small outer diameter, making them easy to handle and install. The strain relief boots with a particularly slim design allow for comfortable cabling even with larger switches with 48 ports or more.
Unlike conventional PVC cables, these cables are halogen-free: the dangerous release of halogen-containing combustion gases is thus excluded, and smoke generation is minimized. Halogen-free cables are also difficult to ignite, and there is no dangerous ignition cord effect.
UTP - Unscreened/Unshielded Twisted-Pair cable. UTP cables consist of a plastic jacket that houses the unshielded, twisted pairs of wires. Due to the lack of shielding, UTP cables have a small outer diameter and are easy to handle and install. These are the most commonly used cables for Ethernet LANs worldwide.
Category 6/6a/6e. Cat 6 cables are designed for operating frequencies up to 250 MHz and are often used in professional settings. At longer lengths, transmission speed may suffer, but short excess lengths are generally acceptable depending on external influences. Application areas for Cat 6 include voice and data transmission as well as multimedia and ATM networks.
